Mrs. Delonas completed all of her schooling in school district 25 schools from elementary through high school graduation. She has always loved learning "even when it was challenging for me" and enjoys people and children. Many of her teachers have had a lasting positive impression on her life. Mrs. Delonas started her teaching career in 2011 after graduating with a Bachelors in Education K-8 from Idaho State University. She taught for 2 years in 2nd/3rd grade combination classroom and 3 years in 4th grade. As a teacher, she desired to maximize her impact on learning beyond her own classroom and perused a Masters in Educational Leadership and Administration. She was first an administrator in 2016 at the Lincoln Early Intervention Center where she remained for 3 years. As the school principal, she had the wonderful opportunity to collaborate with the Head Start program and see her knowledge of special education, best practices that impact learning, and the diverse needs of our community grow exponentially. Gate City Elementary welcomed her in 2019, and she spent the year getting familiar with leading a larger elementary school, getting to know the school’s community and collaborated with staff to implement a school wide intervention program. Mrs. Delonas is looking forward to continued learning and collaboration with Gate City staff, learners and families in the pursuit of helping all learners grow academically and social emotionally. The learners and staff can always count on her to lead the school through thick and thin and even with her pom poms in assemblies where she shares her Gate City PRIDE!
